Records to preserve after a junction accident

• The exact junction or roundabout, the date and the approximate time.
• A sketch showing approach roads, lanes, intended exits and the point of impact.
• Photographs of signs, markings, signal positions and vehicle damage, where safe.
• Dashcam footage, witness details and nearby CCTV locations.
• Garda and insurer correspondence, medical records and evidence of financial losses.

Photographs taken later may not show the conditions on the day. Note any subsequent roadworks or altered markings. Footage preservation should be considered promptly because recordings may be retained only briefly.
